Choosing a setup type

During onboarding, Shop-OS asks "What are you setting up?". This shapes your dashboard and Discord commands — and you can change it later in Settings, so it is not a permanent commitment.

Service Business

You sell services that may consume stock. Examples: a mechanic shop, restaurant, tattoo studio or med bay. Configure services with ingredients or parts, track stock automatically, pay staff commission. When staff record a sale, the parts each service uses are deducted from stock for them.

Trading Business

You buy and sell products directly. Examples: a dealership, gun store, general trader or pawn shop. Track cost and sale prices, margins, stock levels and staff sales — no service setup needed.

Guild / Clan

You manage a shared stash for your crew. Examples: a raid guild, MC club, faction armoury or clan bank. Track who deposits and withdraws what. Turn selling on later if your crew starts trading. Guilds also get a "Enable sales tracking" choice at signup — leave it off for a pure shared stash, or turn it on to record trades with a member share (you can change this later in Settings too).

What actually changes

• •Vocabulary: guilds see "Inventory", "Trades", "Members" and "Member Share"; businesses see "Stock", "Sales", "Staff" and "Commission" — across the dashboard AND the bot.
• •Dashboard tabs: service businesses get a Services tab; guilds with sales off get Stock as their primary tab and no Sales tab.
• •Bot flow: /recordsale starts with service selection for service businesses, and goes straight to stock items for trading businesses and trading guilds.
• •Guild-only tools: contribution leaderboard, readiness targets, withdrawal limits, large-withdrawal alerts and the weekly digest.
